The historic center and the Sanctuary

In Montblanc, the charm is in the whole: the historic center, the wall that you can walk through from the tower of Sant Francesc and the Sanctuary of the Virgin of the Serra, with its symbolic charge and its views. And, to top it off, a sweet wink: the Merlets, a typical dessert that takes its name from the battlements of the wall.

The great Cistercian milestone

Monastery of Santa Maria de Poblet

Poblet is a monumental complex of the first level: it is described as the largest inhabited Cistercian monastery in Europe, it preserves almost all its buildings and was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1991.

In addition, its history is linked to the Crown of Aragon: it was a royal pantheon and is considered one of the most important monastic monasteries in Europe.

Castles and villages frozen in time

Barberà, Conesa and Santa Coloma

If you're looking for a more medieval twist, the region has fortresses and small towns with a lot of personality. In Barberà de la Conca, the castle was one of the important fortresses of the Hispanic March.

And in Conesa, the story changes: a tiny village with a wall, cobbled streets and a castle documented since 1123. As a closure with the atmosphere of a historic town, Santa Coloma de Queralt allows you to complete the route with its castle and its Jewish quarter.
