The Landscape of the Geniuses
Four universal artists and their landscape.
There are places that are visited, and others that are better understood when you look at them through the eyes of the person who created them from there. The Landscape of the Geniuses proposes to discover the territory following in the footsteps of four universal artists linked to the area: Antoni Gaudí in Reus, Joan Miró in Mont-roig del Camp, Pau Casals in El Vendrell and Pablo Picasso in Horta de Sant Joan.
The idea is simple and powerful: combining cultural spaces with real landscapes that help to understand why ideas were born here that then went around the world.
Reus, Gaudí's door
The Gaudí Centre
The Gaudí Centre is Reus' tribute to its most universal son and is presented as the only interpretation centre dedicated to his life and work, with audiovisual technology and a visit designed to open the mind and senses.
Mont-roig del Camp, Miró's light
Mas Miró and the Mediterranean landscape
In Mas Miró, the old family farmhouse, the landscape is not decorated, it is part of the story: Miró arrived at the age of 18 to recover from an illness and that first stay opened an artistic and emotional relationship that lasted 65 years.
Here we understand the link between work and territory, with an inland Mediterranean of almond and carob trees, and routes that connect the farmhouse, the village and the sea.
El Vendrell, music in front of the sea
Pau Casals Villa Museum
The Pau Casals Villa Museum is a summer house built on the seafront promenade of Sant Salvador, where Casals lived until 1939, when he had to go into exile. Today it is a museum and allows us to approach his musical and human legacy with an updated approach.
Horta de Sant Joan, Picasso's footprint
Picasso Center
The route also opens up to the Terres de l'Ebre with the Picasso Center in Horta de Sant Joan, as a point to complete the creative map of the project.
